Jewellery Care

idamari bespoke necklaceLast On, First Off: Jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. Treasure your jewellery and treat it nicely.

Handle with Care: Avoid contact with sharp objects and abrasive materials to prevent scratches and dents.

Avoid Exposure: Keep away from cosmetics such as perfume, hair spray, make-up, nail polish removers  as well as cleaning products as they may affect the appearance of your jewelry. Bleach can permanently discolour gold and silver jewelry. Remove your jewelry before swimming in pools or salt water to protect it from exposure to chlorine and salt.

Gentle Cleaning: Use a soft cloth for delicate gemstones, pearls and gold-plated jewelry; avoid immersion in water. Solid silver or gold jewelry can be soaked in warm, soapy water (you can use a gentle dishwashing soap) , then rinsed and dried with a soft cloth.

Proper Storage: Store your jewelry in a box or pouch to prevent dust and tangling with other pieces. Keep away from moisture. We recommend that you store it along with the anti-tarnish tab provided with your order. You should store your jewellery in a dry space to avoid oxidation. Over time silver will tarnish.

Gold plating: Gold plating will wear off over time due to due contact with skin, cosmetics and other chemicals. You should take extra good care of your gold plated pieces and avoid scratches. Gold plated jewellery can be re-plated. Gold plated jewellery must be cleaned with a special gold cleaning cloth and should not be submerged.
